Who is it for?
Residents of the Netherlands with a valid BSN who currently receive WW, Wajong, or WIA benefits, or are being guided by UWV towards reskilling into a shortage profession (kansberoep).
What is it?
The UWV Scholingsbudget is a government-funded subsidy that supports reskilling into in-demand professions, including ICT and tech roles.
The goal is to improve long-term employability by helping individuals transition into sectors with strong job prospects.
How does it work?
Eligible participants can receive up to €5,000 in funding for an approved training or bootcamp.
To apply, candidates must discuss their retraining plans with UWV or be referred through their UWV contact person. Approval depends on individual circumstances, labor market relevance, and the chosen training program.
Let’s say the investment in your course is €8,000. In addition, there are other study-related costs of €3,500 (e.g. state-of-the-art laptop, second screen, …). If you pay back €11,500 over 72 months, then the monthly payment might be a very manageable €250 per month.

Residents of the Netherlands.
How does it work?
As long as it’s study-related, you could borrow significantly more than the tuition fee. But maybe part of your financing requirement is already covered by e.g. RMT and/or TechMeUp? That is not a problem either, we’ll gladly cover the remainder.
